
I am a biologist, with a PhD in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Analysis and I have been studying saproxylic insects for more than 15 years, mainly focusing on the effect of forest management on forest biodiversity. I also spent some years working on agricultural insect pests and biocontrol. I am essentially interested in conservation biology and how it could be feasibly integrated into the management actions that affect ecosystems and species, mainly forests & insects respectively.
Sono una biologa con un dottorato in Biodiversità e Analisi degli Ecosistemi e da oltre quindici anni mi occupo dello studio degli insetti saproxilici, concentrandomi in particolare sugli effetti della gestione forestale sulla biodiversità. Ho inoltre maturato esperienza nel settore della difesa delle colture, lavorando su insetti fitofagi e strategie di biocontrollo. Il mio interesse principale riguarda la biologia della conservazione e le modalità con cui può essere integrata in modo concreto ed efficace nelle pratiche di gestione che influenzano ecosistemi e specie, con un’attenzione particolare alle foreste e agli insetti.

RESILIENT TREES

RESILIENT TREES objective is to increase the protection of biodiversity, successfully putting into practice improved policies for what concerns old-growth forests and monumental-veteran trees.
